Formula 1 is one of the most popular sports in the world, and with good reason. The combination of speed, skill and strategy makes for a thrilling spectacle that keeps fans coming back for more.

For many fans, betting on Formula 1 adds an extra layer of excitement, but if you’re new to betting on Formula 1, don’t worry!

It’s not as complicated as it might seem at first. In this article, we’ll run through the basics of how to bet on Formula 1 races.

Betting on F1

When it comes to betting on Formula 1, there are a few different types of bets you can make. The most common is a short-term bet on who will win the race outright. However, you can also bet on things like the podium finish (ie, who will come in second and third place), or long-term bets on what driver will win the championship.

To place a bet, you simply need to find a bookmaker. There is several great sites comparing and  listing the best bookmakers online. If you are, like me, from Sweden, you can find a bookmaker at bästabettingsidorna.se.

However, if you are from another country, I recommend that you read our article on the best betting sites for Formula 1, where we list international bookmakers.

It’s however important to make sure that the bookmaker offers betting on Formula 1 races. Once you have found a bookmaker, you will need to create an account and deposit some money. Once your account is funded, you can then start placing bets.

Live betting

There are also bets available during the race itself. These are called “live bets” and allow crucial factors during the race, such as pit stops, spin-offs and weather conditions to determine how the bets should be placed. For example, you can bet on things like who will win the next stage of the race, or whether a driver will retire from the race.

Strategies for betting on F1

Now that we’ve covered the basics of how to bet on Formula 1, let’s take a look at some strategies. The first thing to remember is that betting on Formula 1 is a long-term game. It’s important to resist the temptation to bet on every race, as this will likely lead to losses in the long run. Instead, try to pick your bets carefully and only bet on races where you feel you have an edge.

In order to do so, it’s important to know the sport in detail, by learning who is competing, and the different cars used on the different tracks. The more knowledge you obtain, the easier it will be to make a well-informed decision on how to place your bets.

Another important strategy is to look for the best odds. Different bookmakers will offer different odds, even on the same races, so it’s beneficial to look around and find the best deal. Remember, even a small difference in odds can make a big difference over time.

Finally, remember to always have control over your bankroll, and setting limits on how much you are willing to win or lose in a day, week, or month. By doing this, you will ensure that you gamble responsibly and only bet an amount that you can afford to lose.

Even though you have a great knowledge about the sports, many wagers are still based on luck.
